Who are we?

Pause AI France is a volunteer association that raises awareness among French citizens and public authorities about the risks of the AI race, and encourages them to act to oppose it.

We are part of Pause AI Global, an international movement of citizens, researchers, and experts who believe that the development of the most dangerous AI systems must be paused.

Our Mission

  • Raise awareness about the risks of advanced AI systems among the French public and decision-makers
  • Advocate for regulatory frameworks that ensure AI development is safe and beneficial for all
  • Build a community of engaged citizens who want to act on this issue
  • Connect with the international movement for responsible AI governance

Our Values

We believe that :

  • AI development poses real and serious risks that must be addressed now
  • Technological progress must be subject to democratic oversight
  • International cooperation is essential to address a global challenge
  • The benefits of AI must be shared equitably by all of humanity
